Comment on Illegals

I read the blog that was posted here on Conflicts of Texas's site. I think it was a wonderful blog about how illegals should be required to get drivers licences, pay insurance and so on. It makes more sense to do this because then the people who are legit with all their paperwork and stuff don't get screwed when they get involved in a wreck with an illegal. They are the ones that cause a lot of problems for people who have all their required things done when driving. If I were to get into a wreck with an illegal and then realize that they have no way to pay..no id..nothing..then I would be very mad because I would be responsible for all the things that come with it. I want illegals to have to pay fines and fees to drive and be insured because it is only fair. Like this person said in their blog..it is unfair and should be necessary for everyone behind the wheel to be responsible for their actions while driving. If illegals are going to be here..then they should be required to get insurance, registration and licenses. It is so crazy that we have so many people driving who are not supposed to be and it causes a serious problem for others. When one person fails to uphold their end of the deal then we all become affected. It is so much easier to just allow the illegals to get licenses and registration. It can only help benefit everyone because then the people involved who are legal drivers are not stuck out when they are involved in an accident with another person. Hopefully this will happen one day. It would really benefit the whole world..illegals would be held responsible for their actions and legal drivers will be given what they deserve when something happens. I think it would make the whole world better if illegals were able to get the required documentation to drive. Wrecks happen all the time and if illegals were held responsible for their part of the accidents..then the other party would be better off not being stuck out. I think this would benefit everyone in a good way and I agree with everything that this blogger has to say about this situation.

Renew Our Economy with Energy Efficiency

The website that I went to was very interesting. It had many ways to introduce more efficient energy sources in order to better our economy. There is a large group of around ninety elected officials that are working to get the Texas legislature to renew Texas' leadership as the energy capitol of the world. The Director of Environment Texas, Luke Metzger, says that our economy is only being worsened by all the unstable energy prices. We have so many resources here in Texas that would allow us to be much more efficient than we are.
The new pan is labeled, "Renew Texas," and has many elements that will work together in order to help stabilize our economy and the rest of the worlds if the plan goes correctly. The parts of the plan go as follows:
To add 4000 megawatts of Solar Power by 2020
To require the reduction of utilities by 1% in 2015 and 2% by 2020
Increase efficiency standards of new homes by 15% every 3 years by improving building codes
Use low-cost loans to improve schools, universities and local government buildings
Require certain appliances to meet minimum efficiency standards
If this plan were to work the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy says that an estimates 5 billion would be saved by consumers over the next 15 years. The University of Texas has even brought to light the fact that a major investment in solar power could create 123,000 jobs in this field by 2020. Mark Strama, Texas State Rep, said that wind power already has created more jobs and put more money back in the consumers pockets, so we should continue. There are so many supporters and no reason not to go for this. There is so much to gain in this proposition. I just hope that everyone supports it and works towards implementing this into our energy program. Even President Obama has pledged to spend 150 billion over the next ten years on clean energy. If the president believes in this plan so should we. I think it is a wonderful thing and would be great to put to action. Sure it will take a lot of money and a lot of time...but we will get there. How can we just leave the wind, sun and crops untapped when they are such an abundant source of energy that is just sitting there waiting to be used.
